Dr. Haverty is the co-director of A Step Forward, Inc. For over 25 years she has treated sexual trauma survivors, non-offending parents (NOP), and adult sexual offenders (ASO). She is the creator and director of ASF’s NOP program and the co-creator and director of the ASO treatment program. She also works with families and communities to facilitate sex offender re-entry and re-unification. In addition, Dr. Haverty provides treated ASOs with a program she began in 2008 called CORR™ (Community of Ongoing Resource & Resolution). CORR™ is a free, drop-in, monthly program that supports ASOs in making a lifetime commitment to a relapse-free lifestyle. Dr. Haverty is a member of the California Coalition on Sex Offending (CCOSO) and the Association for Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA). She regularly speaks at professional and educational venues and has published in CCOSO’s quarterly newsletter, “Perspectives.” Dr. Haverty provides expert forensic testimony and has consulted with and been interviewed by local radio stations and organizations who serve as advocates for survivors of sexual abuse. In 1989, she received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology following original research on the adult symptoms of childhood physical and sexual abuse among incarcerated women. She also maintains a private practice in Berkeley, California
