Juhayna Ajami, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist specializing in providing psychotherapy and assessment services to adults who have survived traumatic experiences of many kinds, including domestic violence and sexual abuse. She is a certified Attachment Focused EMDR therapist. In addition to working with trauma survivors, she also treats parents who have children who have either been victims or have victimized others.

 

In addition to working with trauma survivors, Dr. Ajami also treats individuals who have committed sexual offenses. At A Step Forward, she is the co-intake coordinator for the Adult Sex Offender Program and the coordinator of the Non-offending parent program. Prior to joining the staff at A Step Forward, she worked with adolescent and adult offenders through the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

 

Dr. Ajami has a special interest in psychological assessment and has experience conducting forensic, trauma-informed, and neuropsychological evaluations. As a bi-cultural and bi-lingual therapist, she has always sought opportunities to work with immigrant and displaced communities affected by trauma. She has experience conducting asylum evaluations and she co-authored a chapter on Arab-American families in the Handbook of Arab American Psychology. Dr. Ajami is a graduate of the George Washington University in Washington, DC.

 

She provides treatment in both English and Arabic.
