Cynthia Zecic, Ed.D., LMFT has worked for 14 years with Mental Health agencies in both San Francisco and East Bay as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Drama Therapist. She provides individual and group psychotherapy to those dealing with substance abuse, physical, sexual or emotional abuse. Dr. Zecic works with both perpetrators and victims of domestic violence as well as teens and adults who have committed sexual offenses. For many years she also worked with adults and minors involved in human sex trafficking. She has experience treating people from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, including incarcerated women, schoolchildren, foster youth, seniors, gay and transgender youth and adults.
Dr. Zecic coordinates our Non-Offending Parent Program and facilitates groups with focused issues and needs, including Non-Offending Parents, Survivors of Sexual Abuse, Grief & Loss, Domestic Violence, Parent Support and Co-Parenting. In addition, she has experience leading Drama Therapy groups and is trained in EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) therapy. Dr. Zecic believes that her training and experience in Somatic and Trauma Body Centered Therapy has deepened her work with clients who have trauma backgrounds. Dr. Zecic received her doctorate in Counseling Psychology in 2015 from Argosy University. She is a CASOMB (California Adult Sex Offender Management Board) sex offender treatment specialist. In addition to her clinical work at ASF, she teaches at JFK University and the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS).
